The weekend of March 26-28th the Lakerbots took B.O.B. Murphy out and put him on the field in the Philomath FRC event. It was a great weekend for us. We made a few modifications to the robot and added some hooks on the end of our arms so that we could grab the Recycling Containers much easier. B.O.B. had no technical issues and we were able to perform very well in all of our matches. We finished the qualification matches ranked 15th. We were drafted as the second pick of the #6 Alliance. Our Alliancemates were Team 190 (Gompei and the H.E.R.D.) from Massachusets and Team 997 (Spartan Robotics) from Corvallis. We were very grateful to be drafted by them and we made a great team. We made it all the way to the SemiFinals and finished with the 3rd best point average, which improved on our 4th from the previous weekend in Ellensburg. We were deeply humbled to be awarded the "Quality Award Sponsored by Motorola" that recognized a robot that is robust in both concept and fabrication. We our two tournaments and knew it was going to be a close call for us making it to the Pacific NorthWest Championship. We finished 68th in District Points. The Championship takes the top 64 teams and there were 3 teams ranked below us that were automatic qualifiers due to winning various awards in their competitions. We needed 7 teams to drop out of the competition in order to be invited but it did not happen and our season has come to an end. Below is a video teaser that shows walking through the pits and into the stands in Philomath and then there is a playlist of all our matches.
